The Seafood Festival is coming! It is the first full weekend in October. This year the events will take place October 1-3. Carteret County, NC has been holding this event now for 24 years in Downtown Morehead City. The Seafood Festival has a lot of different events going on that would make it fun for everyone! The streets are lined with vendors selling everything from t-shirts to lemonade. Seafood is not the only things available either, they have something for everyone. Music is also a big deal with three to four stages set up to play through out the day!
This year at the seafood festival they will be hosting the Mike Corrado band on the Clam Jam stage Sat. at 3. He is a Marine that has become a famous country singer! Mike Corrado became recognized after releasing his song “On My Watch Tonight” from his 2005 album Falling Awake. The song became an anthem for service men and women past and present around the world. Mike has played with John Mayer, Edwin McCain, and Train, Black Eyed Peas, John Rich, Bon Jovi and more. His most recent video “Stand” became an internet hit. Watch the video here. There is so much to see and do at the Seafood festival! There is a special areas set up for kids to play called the SasSeas Island Playground. Of course, you can’t forget the Flounder Fling! Amusement rides and games; ohyeah did I mention Food! Lots and lots of wonderful food all the seafood you can think of and some other things you might not have tried like Alligator or Shark bites.
